Who We Are

Our facility has been a Stainless-Steel fabrication site since 1947, known as “Schweitzer Metal Fabicators” (SMF) and led by Mr. Rene Schweitzer. SMF was a pioneer in Southern California fabricating Stainless Steel Tanks. 

In 1987 our founder Jerry Childress branched out on his own bringing years of experience in engineering and fabrication and acquired SMF from Mr. Schweitzer with 2 silent partners. After the acquisition the company's name was changed to Todd Street Inc. (TSI) and continued in the fabrication of Stainless-Steel tanks and products. 

With the exponential growth of TSI, the team grew as well and Sergio Villarino Sr. joined TSI's team in July of 1999 as a welder bringing his knowledge and 22 years of experience. Jerry and Sergio had known each other for decades prior and have accomplished many projects, working together at Commercial Sheet Metal now closed after 100 years in business in Los Angeles CA. With their combined experience, TSI grew into the new era of manufacturing being a leader in Southern California. 

2001, the silent partners decided to move on, and a new partnership was formed between Jerry and Sergio. Combining their leadership, TSI was able to set a standard of what a boutique manufacture is building relationships with Pharmaceutical, Food, Beverage, Dairy and Cosmetic Industries. 

In 2013 Jerry passed due to sudden illness and Sergio became the sole owner of TSI continuing his legacy. With Sergio at the helm, TSI continued in growth becoming a minority family-owned company providing opportunities for employees. 

On February 19th, 2022, Sergio Sr. passed away in a tragic car accident, leaving a legacy behind that we now continue with hard work and dedication. Continuing to be a family business his wife Guadalupe Villarino has now continued her husband’s work and pushes TSI to maintain his core values and vision for this industry. Here at TSI we are proud to be a family and woman owned minority business serving the industry for more than 37 years and continue to strive towards the excellence that our founders established. TSI is here to serve and provide quality products.
